Scaffolding Hire Dublin: Residential, Commercial & Industrial

Ainscaff Scaffolding provides scaffolding hire and erection across Dublin and throughout Ireland. Whether you need access scaffolding for a house extension, a commercial fit-out, an industrial maintenance project, or a temporary roof structure, our team handles the full scope - from survey and design through to erection, inspection, and dismantlement.

Established over 40 years ago and now in its third generation of family ownership, Ainscaff has built scaffolding structures for domestic homeowners, main contractors, heritage projects, local authorities, and insurance restoration specialists across Dublin, Cork, and Galway. Our in-house structural engineers provide load calculations and design drawings where required, meaning we offer a complete and fully certified scaffolding service under one roof.

Scaffolding Hire Services

Residential Scaffolding Dublin

Ainscaff provides residential scaffolding hire for homeowners undertaking extensions, re-roofing, chimney repairs, external painting, attic conversions, and general maintenance work. Our residential teams are experienced in working in occupied properties, confined Dublin driveways and rear gardens, and terrace-house access constraints.

We provide a free site survey for all residential jobs before quoting. The survey allows us to confirm bay dimensions, loading requirements, access constraints, and the correct scaffold type for the project. All residential scaffolding is erected by our own trained operatives - we do not subcontract.

Residential ApplicationTypical Scaffold Type

Commercial Scaffolding Dublin

Ainscaff provides commercial scaffolding hire for main contractors, building firms, facilities management companies, and commercial property owners across Dublin. Commercial scaffolding projects typically require formal load calculations, design drawings, and third-party inspection - all of which Ainscaff provides in-house.

Our commercial scaffolding work covers retail and office refurbishment, hotel and hospitality renovation, healthcare facility works, school and university projects, and commercial new-build. We work to CDM regulations and can provide a full RAMS (Risk Assessment and Method Statement) pack on request.

  • Retail and office refurbishment - internal and external access scaffolding
  • Hotel and hospitality facade works - swing-stage, hoist-supported, or independent scaffold
  • Healthcare facility maintenance - in-use environments, noise and dust controls
  • School and public building projects - DES and local authority compliance
  • Commercial new-build - working platform, stair towers and hoists

Industrial Scaffolding

For industrial clients including pharmaceutical plants, food processing facilities, data centres, utilities, and manufacturing sites, Ainscaff provides engineered industrial scaffolding solutions. Industrial scaffolding requires specialist design for unusual loads, hazardous environments, confined access, and continuous operations.

Ainscaff's in-house engineering capability means we can produce bespoke scaffold designs for non-standard industrial applications - including cantilever scaffolds, suspended scaffolds, and complex birdcage structures for internal work at height. Full inspection regimes are available to Lifting Operations and Lifting Equipment Regulations (LOLER) standards.

How Ainscaff Works: From Survey to Dismantlement

  1. Initial Survey - Our team visits your site to assess the project scope, access constraints, loading requirements, and tie-in points. For standard residential projects this is typically a 30-minute site visit; for commercial and industrial projects a full survey report is produced.
  2. Design and Calculations - Where required (complex commercial, industrial, or non-standard residential), our in-house structural engineers produce load calculations and scaffold design drawings in accordance with EN 12811 and TG20:21.
  3. Quotation - We provide a written quotation detailing scaffold type, bay dimensions, hire period, inspection schedule, and total cost inclusive of erection and dismantlement.
  4. Erection - All scaffolding is erected by Ainscaff's own Safepass-certified operatives. A handover certificate is issued on completion confirming the scaffold has been erected in accordance with the agreed design.
  5. Inspection - Ainscaff operates a regular inspection regime throughout the hire period: weekly inspections and after any adverse weather event. Inspection records are maintained and available to the client on request.
  6. Adaptation - If the project scope changes (additional bays, lift extensions, loading changes), Ainscaff can adapt the scaffold and issue a revised design certificate.
  7. Dismantlement - At project completion, Ainscaff's team dismantles the scaffold, removes all components from site, and issues a completion confirmation. The site is left clean and clear.

Scaffolding Hire FAQs

  • How much does scaffolding hire cost in Dublin?
Scaffolding hire cost in Ireland depends on the size and complexity of the project, the hire duration, and the scaffold type required. As a guide: a standard domestic scaffold for a semi-detached house runs from approximately €600-€900 per week including erection and dismantlement. For a detailed quote, contact Ainscaff with your project details and we will arrange a free site survey.
  • How long does it take to erect scaffolding?
A standard domestic scaffold for a semi-detached house can typically be erected in 2-4 hours by Ainscaff's crew. Larger commercial scaffolds, complex industrial structures, and temporary roof systems take longer depending on design complexity - our site survey will give you an accurate programme.
  • Do I need planning permission for scaffolding?
Scaffolding that extends over a public footpath or road in Dublin typically requires a road opening licence or scaffolding licence from Dublin City Council or the relevant local authority. Ainscaff handles the licence application process for all footpath and road-edge scaffolding projects as part of our standard service.
  • What is the minimum hire period for scaffolding?
Ainscaff's standard minimum hire period is one week. Most domestic projects run for 2-6 weeks depending on the works being carried out. Commercial projects typically run for the duration of the project phase.
  • Does Ainscaff provide scaffolding outside Dublin?
Yes. Ainscaff operates nationally via three depot locations: Dublin, Cork, and Galway. We cover the full Republic of Ireland including all 26 counties. For nationwide scaffolding hire enquiries, contact our Dublin office and we will coordinate with the nearest depot.
