Domestic scaffolding for Dublin homeowners

Independent access scaffold set up for external house painting on an Irish home

When you are re-roofing, extending or repainting your home, you need safe access that goes up quickly, stays tidy and comes down cleanly. Ainscaff has provided residential scaffolding to Dublin homeowners for over 40 years, and our domestic crews are experienced in the realities of Irish housing-occupied properties, confined driveways, narrow terrace access and rear-garden works.

All residential scaffolding is erected by Ainscaff's own trained operatives. We do not subcontract, so the same standards of safety and workmanship apply to a single-chimney tower as to a full re-roof scaffold.

A free site survey before you commit
Every residential job begins with a free site survey. The visit-typically around 30 minutes for a standard house - confirms bay dimensions, loading requirements, access constraints and the correct scaffold type for the work, so your written quotation is accurate rather than a rough guess over the phone.

Common residential projects

We scaffold homes for a wide range of works. Typical projects and the scaffold type they call for:

Home project Typical scaffold
House extension (single or double storey)Independent tied scaffold / modular system, typically 3-5 lifts

Attic / dormer conversionScaffold to eaves and gable elevation depending on dormer design

What a residential scaffold costs

Domestic scaffolding hire in Ireland depends on the size of the house, the number of elevations, the hire duration and the scaffold type. As a guide, a standard scaffold for a semi-detached house runs from approximately €600-€900 per week, including erection and dismantlement. Ainscaff's standard minimum hire period is one week; most domestic projects run for two to six weeks depending on the works. For a firm figure, our free site survey produces a written quotation with no surprises.

Disclaimer: Prices and project times are indicative only and may vary depending on site access, scaffold requirements, weather, permits, and project complexity. A final written quotation will be provided following a site survey.

Do you need permission for house scaffolding?

Scaffolding that sits entirely within your own property (driveway, garden or against your own wall) generally needs no council permission. Scaffolding that oversails or stands on a public footpath or road usually requires a scaffolding or road-opening licence from the local authority. Ainscaff handles the licence application as part of our standard service for any footpath or road-edge scaffold - you do not need to deal with the council yourself.

Safe, certified, insured

Every Ainscaff operative holds a valid Safepass card and is trained to Construction Industry Federation (CIF) requirements. The company is registered with the Construction Industry Register Ireland (CIRI) and carries public liability insurance with a minimum of €6.5m cover. Domestic scaffolds are inspected weekly and after adverse weather, and a handover certificate is issued when the scaffold is ready to use.
